The company got its start during the days of the very active Anthracite Mining Industry of Pennsylvania. Located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where coal drills and core drilling services were abundant, set itself apart, securing major contracts from firms like the Lehigh Coal and Navigation, the Pennsylvania Coal Company, and the Hudson Coal Company, among other large mining enterprises. As the coal industry declined, the Drill Company expanded into manufacturing equipment for customers outside the localized anthracite fields of Northeastern Pennsylvania.The shift from contracting services to manufacturing was gradual. Steady, continual growth occurred throughout the years, both in new product design and performance, and has plunged products onto the worldwide stage. New owner, Mr. Wayne Wise, formerly associated with the Warren George Company in Jersey City, NJ, is proud to be at the helm of this increasing business.
